Associate Web Engineer
Description
Work as a Web Engineer on a team that develops exciting and complex Internet websites. This
team builds and enhances web sites such as lds.org. This team plays a critical role in making the
rich content assets in many different languages. The challenges are interesting and complex to
enable single-source publishing, content workflow, and role-specific personalization.
The candidate must be able to work well in a team setting. They must possess excellent verbal
and written communication skills. They must have a deep understanding of Internet web site
issues such as search engine optimization, database access, security and encryption, multi-media
and XML-based content. They must demonstrate an experienced working knowledge of web
standards and accepted coding practices for site development making web pages accessible from
a variety of different platforms, web browsers, and other constraints.
Qualifications
Individuals qualified for this position are expected to have the following qualifications:
Must be a graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an
equivalent major.
Web page development experience with XHTML, CSS, javascript, image
editing, REST, HTTP, Ajax
Experience with JSP and Java.
Experience with Cross browser compatibility, Standards compliant
XHTML, Accessibility, User experience, Performance/optimization.
Must show a portfolio of previous sites developed.
Desired experience with jQuery, xQuery, Flash/Flex, Photoshop, and
javascript libraries.
Must have an experience working with Databases (MySQL & Oracle)
