Software Engineer - Platform Solutions - Contingent-
Description
*This is a contingent staff position expected to last up to 12 months with the possibility of renewal and/or conversion to regular employment*
We are looking for a Software Engineer with a passion for and experience in web service development.
Work has begun on a core set of services that will be used to accelerate solution development, application integration,. We are looking for a
very strong Software Engineer to participate in the design and implementation of this set of services. Need good communication skills as you
will interact and work with other groups to understand and develop services in their knowledge domains and consult on web service
development.
The engineer will work on tasks and assignments from a Team Manager. This position employs an experienced professional, using good
knowledge, skills and abilities with technology and programming languages to plan, design, develop, test software, debug, modify, and write
documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance of solutions which sustain the rapidly growing needs of a diverse customer
population.
The Software Engineer participates in designing major components, breaks down work assignments, estimates task completion time, and
fulfills these assignments within the timeframe established. The customer expectation is that the Software Engineer, as a member of the
technology team, will deliver a quality, technological solution that meets or exceeds the requirements of the customer and is delivered within
the defined schedule and cost constraints. The Software Engineer is able to work with minimal supervision, and must utilize his or her
experience, understanding of professional concepts, a and procedures to exercise judgment and creativity in selecting methods, techniques,
and evaluation criteria in order to solve complex issues requiring an evaluation of variable factors. The Software Engineer builds deliverables
according to the established standards and conventions.
Qualifications
• Individuals qualified for this position are expected to have the following qualifications:
• Must have SOAP Web Service development experience (CXF experience and REST development a plus).
• Must have experience developing enterprise-level software. Experience developing frameworks or similar public API work preferred.
• Must have good Java development skills, .NET C# also desired.
• Strong communication, problem solving, technology, and collaboration skills.
• Good knowledge of Hibernate and the Spring framework needed.
• Experience with IBM WebSphere beneficial.
• 6-8 years of solid development experience.
• BS in CS or equivalent experience.
