Sr. Functional Analyst
Description
The Sr. Functional Analyst (SFA) provides focused expertise and direction during the planning,
development, implementation and operation of packaged application systems that serve the
project planning and management disciplines. Specifically, the Sr. Functional Analyst will act as
the primary functional expert for enterprise project management tools. Internally the SFA
interacts with Division Directors, Managers, Product Managers & Specialists, ICS Program
Management, Development, QA, Infrastructure, and Customers throughout Departments to
design, configure, and support enterprise project management tools within the Program
Management Office. Externally the SFA interacts with IT providers and vendor’s management
and consultants of the enterprise project management applications.
Responsibilities:
Provide primary expertise in the configuration and implementation of the CA Clarity IT
Management and Governance system. Make recommendations to utilize other COTS
and associated technologies in a manner that will improve business results.
Work alongside program managers to recommend and justify new enhancements or
modules to maintain or improve business process and system capabilities; ensure
alignment with the overall ICS architecture and strategy.
Create/modify process workflows, applications and functions within Clarity as well as
screen and report configurations.
Identify, develop, implement and maintain secure, cost effective systems to support and
enhance project management processes across all departments at local, area office and
global levels.
Manage and develop processes to maintain project management application
configuration plans, Business process models, deployment plan templates, testing
scenario templates, and core training material. The Analyst considers processes that span
multiple work groups within a department with ability to work between high-level
overviews down to detailed work-level tasks and steps while maintaining an
understanding of how the processes, application systems, tools, and people involved
contribute to project management objectives.
Interface with database engineering and other infrastructure and development staff.
Create custom reports using Crystal Reports and Actuate.
Qualifications
Significant knowledge of information technologies (databases, interfaces, PC’s
and infrastructures).
Significant, broad-based business experience, project management experience,
metrics and the relationships to other integrated business processes.
Excellent personal communication skills.
Proficient SQL experience including complex queries, stored procedures and
triggers.
7+ years of software, database or infrastructure engineering experience. Project
management experience preferred.
Familiar with XML.
