Senior Technical Writer - Contingent
Description
The User Education Team in our Client's Department seeks a contingent Senior Technical Writer. This position will create user
documentation, help files, and training materials for a specific set of users. This position reports to the User Education Team manager
*This is a contingent position lasting up to 12 months. No relocation assistance is available.
There is a possibility of renewal and/or conversion to regular employment)
Qualifications
Candidates must possess the following:
Five years of experience in technical writing and user assistance.
B.A./B.S. or graduate degree in English, Technical Communications, or a related discipline.
Outstanding writing and content design skills.
Excellent technical and communication skills.
Strong planning and coordination skills.
Knowledge of current industry best practices in user education.
Strong feelings of advocacy for end users.
Exceptional candidates will have one or more of the following:
Experience creating localizable content used to build products in a large number of languages.
Experience creating content for a wide variety of software solutions.
Experience creating content that meets accessibility requirements.
Expert level experience with MadCap Flare.
Expert level knowledge of web standard XHTML, CSS, XML and XML-related technologies.
Writing samples will be requested.
